Prije dva tjedana sam kuhao APA i koristio sam SAM0 Kohatu za hmelj. Čitao sam da je slično kao i Amarillo i da možda upravo JE Amarillo ali iz Novog Zelanda. Ali, čini mi se da to nije istina.
Okus je jako dobro. Je slično kao i Američki hmelj, ali ima puno manje mirisa. Za šarže od 27 litra, koristio sam 45 grams za gorčinje, first wort hops za 90 minute, i stavio sam 27 grama dva puta za okus i miris, 15 minute do kraja boila i na knockoutu (0 minuta do kraja).
Pivo je jako dobro, ali slijedeći put ja ću koristit možda skoro dupla više, recimo 40 grams dva puta.
Ovo pivo treba više miris pa ja ću stavit suhi hmelj sada. Ali taj character od hmelja je dobro.
I, 400D, BAŠ NIJE slično kao i Nelson. No way in hell. Mislim da je jako dobro hmelj, ali moraš koristiti više.
If you have used Crystal hops, you know that is also one that you need to use more of. I would classify this one in that group. I don't say it tastes like Crystal, though I haven't had Crystal in some time. This one is typical American character and works very well, but if you use it, make sure to put in a lot more than you would with say Simcoe, Cascade, i tako dalje.
As I drink this beer, I think perhaps the *flavor* is strong enough, but the aroma is not. So, I would maybe leave the 15 minute addition the same, and double the 0 minute addition.

matt ja nisam ni rekao da je sličan kohatu i nelson nego da tako ljudi kažu naišao sam na neke opise na internetu prije nego što sam probao taj hmelj. a sad kad sam probao vidim da to nije istina.
zapravo sinoć sam skuhao IPA i opet kažem amarillo i kohatu jedan pokraj drugog kad ih pomirišeš po meni nisu ni slični jer amarillo miriše deset puta jače i intenzivnije, a ne bih čak rekao ni da su arome slične nego su poprilično različite, pa mi nije jasno zašto su ga nazvali novozelandski amarillo.
